Becoming a new Mum can be a wonderful yet daunting experience, there are so many new things to learn that it can often be overwhelming.
It's important that you find a way of managing this new chapter in your life to help you become a fabulous mum, one way to do this is to try to set up a routine that you and your new baby can follow.
Rotine is the key, you must be organised and try to time your babys feeds as effective as possible so that you can have some time out while the baby naps.
When I was pregnant I didn't have a clue of what to buy for my impending delivery as there are so many gimmicky products on the market I wasn't sure which ones were worth the cost! So I've devised a list below of ten of the things I found most useful for my baby and also for myself.
1. Anti colic bottles are a dream they really do work and after having a baby with colic they were worth any kind of money for some sleep.
2. Your baby is used to being all snug in your womb so to replicate this feeling, make sure you swaddle your baby. There are many great baby swaddling blankets on the market today with easy instructions to follow on how to makie your baby snug.
3. There are great new bibs for sale called bandana bibs they are amazing as they are designed to keep your baby dry when they drool. They are really funky with the most popular range being from Bibs Bandana.
4. The thermal bottles keepers are great, they come in many different ranges and sizes to store your babys bottle at the ame temperature for up to four hours long which is great for travelling or when you are on the go with baby in tow!
5. There are some great cook books available to make your babys meals freshly and cheaply with little effort...much better than processed foods!
6. Get a stroller as they are so easy to use and fit in the smallest of spaces. A pram/pushchair may look great but they are so bulky and require much more effort to get around compared to a stroller. You will also need a huge boot to fit it in!
7. A sleep bag will help your baby transfer from the swaddle with ease as they are still tucked in.
8. A microwaveable sterilisier is a must so quick and easy!
9. A tent with UV protection to keep your babys safe in the sun.
10. If all else fails invest in a Gina Ford Contented Baby Book a lot of people critisise but it is the best selling baby book for a reason!
Finally, have a great time as a mum do what you think is best for your baby you will know. Don't worry what other say or think be yourself and love youyr baby. That's the best thing for your baby ..a mothers love. Have fun with the ups and downs that motherhood brings and realise how lucky we are to be part of such an amazing club!
Final say- go to a mother and baby group to make friends and share concerns and tips with others in the same position as you.
